Summer and Smoke | Mainstage Two | October 18 - 28, 2007

A sensuous and passionate story, Tennessee Williams' Summer and Smoke was hailed by The New York Times as "a gently torrid parable of body and soul." A story about  how opposites attract, this tale of the south is a gripping portrayal of  love. Riveting and intense, this play transports you to the oppressive and sweltering summer of Mississippi to experience the unrelenting power of desire

Antigone | Forum Two | February 14 - 24, 2008

Anouilh's Antigone is a contemporary look at the classic Greek tragedy in which a clash of heroism and authority ends in an ultimate act of civil disobedience. In a world without gods, where does loyalty lie? In the end the conflict between what is practical and what is right offers a harrowing look of the power of “no” versus the price of “yes”.

Forum plays are produced in our intimate Cattell Theatre

WIT | Mainstage Four | April 17 - 27, 2008

In this extraordinary Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Margaret Edson has created a work that is both intellectually challenging and emotionally immediate. Vivian Bearing, Ph.D. comes to reassess her life and her work with a profundity and humor that are transformative both for her and for the audience.  It’s a play about love and knowledge; grace and redemption. The London Times called this play “…moving, funny and wise; about the limitations of the intellect and the value of the heart."

BLACK COMEDY | Forum One | September 27 - October 7, 2007

We very much regret that we were not able to produce our first (and previously announced) choice for Forum 1. The agent for "Bleacher Bums" would not grant us the production rights, so we found another great comedy, Peter Shaffer's Black Comedy. It's all about the chaos that ensues when Brindsley Miller, an aspiring sculptor, “borrows” some objects d’art from his out of town neighbor to impress an interested art collector. A power blackout creates utter chaos when Harold unexpectedly returns and the purloined items must be restored before the lights go back on.
